Participative Leadership is a paradigm that focuses on equality. It uses the human energy of community to build its strength through human contact and participation. This is a very exciting theory of leadership as it's quite new school and ready to be tested among the masses. If a leader is insecure and striving for power this idea would cripple them - why? because its about sharing the power and responsibility over more people rather than one central figure. You don't really know what the outcome will be in most instances and thats one of the very reasons to give it a go! Why not unleash some new thought and leadership in your team?
This participative Leadership makes me want to go and round up the most different and random group of people and attempt to accomplish something amazing. One of my biggest passions as a leader is to bring together teams of individuals who are so different and diverse, and then build a great community of leadership between them. I did this once with one of my favourite teams i've ever lead, we had people from every continent in the world and some obscure personalities to boot! But we made it happens and built strong relationships of trust which smashed past cultural boundaries.
Here we will discuss the definition of Participative Leadership to entice you into trying the 'new thing'. Someone in this position is engaging with modern ideas, re-defining what leadership means and investing into the future of their team and/or organisation.
