Leadership Philosophy: Leadership FAQ

Our Leadership Philosophy is that asking questions is a great thing. Leaders are defined by great questions. It's one of the best leadership qualities to engage, reflect and know what to ask. This is a rare trait but we at Lime want to help you develop this.

Some of my most rewarding investments of time have been sitting down with some great leaders and asking some very basic questions. Leaders need community with other leaders and a forum to pick their brain. Consider this a web based coffee table, two coffees (or teas), two chairs and enough time to talk something through.

We will be adding some frequently asked questions by leaders but please feel free to add your own in the form below. You can just ask the question or ask it and add some details to give more context if its complex. In Leadership Philosophy no question is stupid or un-important and it takes a mature leader to share a question they're unsure about.

Leadership Lime FAQ

Question: What is the most important attribute that a leader should have?

Answer: There is no 'one' best attribute that a leader should have. For our most valued Leadership Philosophy and attributes see our personal leadership site. We share our most valuable personal leadership attributes in this section. This is of course always developing and adding new material, however from my personal experience I would find attitude to be the most important attribute. Attitude defines teach-ability and if a leader can be teachable then the other attributes can be taught.

Question: What are the best reasons for leading a team?

Answer: There are So many! For us we love the dynamics of teamwork in leadership philosophy and find that the rewards are far greater than the drawbacks. Working with great and not-so-great people is also amazingly rewarding as its never dull or 'beige' when it comes to people.

We would say that the best reasons for leading a team would be wanting to see people empowered and developed in their own leadership while you're achieving important goals. Mentoring and Coaching leaders within a team is one of the favourite things which give us energy and purpose in our lives.

As a disclaimer this isn't the only best reason or even many peoples best reasons.

Question: How do you get inspired for leadership?

Answer: As a leader you must resource yourself and build connections with other leaders.

Firstly resource yourself! Buy great leadership books, read blogs by influential leaders and find great websites with information likeLeadership Lime for instance. I know that's a shameless plug but its true. We also love great leadership quotes which is why we have a specific section for it. Also speeches (not necessarily on leadership) really inspire us as they are leaders following a particular vision. Of course Vision is also vital for purpose and following through on leadership.
